The purpose of this tutorial is to provide you with guidance in developing your assessment plan. This tutorial is based on the four categories of the Illinois State University Assessment Plan Rubric, which is used in the PRAAP process (Process for the Review of Academic Assessment Plans). The tabs follow the categories of the rubric and include the following areas:
Assessment is about establishing learning goals for students, collecting information about student performance, and using the results to make program, classroom, or institutional improvements.
The Assessment overview will help you learn how to develop an assessment plan.
Learning outcomes describe the kinds of things that students will know or can do that, after instruction, they could not do or know before.
Learn how to incorporate direct and indirect measures of assessment in your assessment plan.
The main purpose of assessment is to use results in decision-making for improvement.
